A couple of new addiction clinics in the city hope to do more than just get people off opioids.
Janet Sillman of St. Joseph’s Care Group says the idea of the clinics is to give addicts several avenues to choose from, since they can connect them to counsellors and social workers along with the opportunity to access housing.
St. Joseph’s is getting $700,000 a year from the province, through the Local Health Integration Network to run the clinics.
They will be located at St. Joseph’s Balmoral Centre location and the NorWest Community Health Centre on Simpson Street.
