The Emerald Ash Borer is officially present in Thunder Bay.
Inspectors from the Canada Food Inspection Agency have confirmed the ash-tree-destroying insect is here, after it was spotted on some trees on Memorial Avenue last week. The CFIA is responsible for invasive species like the EAB.
City officials say the plan to deal with the Ash Borer includes detection traps, and a recommended response plan that will go before Council on the 18th.
The City says you can do your part by not moving firewood, which can harbour the Emerald Ash Borer.
