The need for wheel-chair accessible taxi vehicles is going to get worse in Thunder Bay, believes the owner of Roach’s taxi.
Tim Cordone says the taxi by-law requires his company to have them, but it doesn’t for services such as URide and Uber.
“Like we do a lot of service for LIFT which is run by the City. We average probably 500 trips a month through them and there is a shortage already.”
Cordone doesn’t understand why URide and Uber aren’t forced to, other than to make it easier for them to enter the marketplace. (File photo)
