Another new challenge has been presented for aboriginal leaders in northwestern Ontario.
Ontario Regional Chief Isadore Day says another issue will be added to their full plate of dealing with suicide, police accountability and child welfare.
“The North American Free Trade Agreement talks about softwood lumber, it talks about minerals, it talks about trade and it talks about tarrifs. All the things that are important to the treaties.
Day says the Nishnawbe Aski Nation has been a leader in addressing regional concerns.
The regional chief was one of the keynote speakers this week at the Keewaywin Conference taking place on Lac Seul.
