Thunder Bay is one of 40 cities in Ontario taking part in the nation-wide “Commuter Challenge” this week.
This morning, participants rode their bikes, and took public transit to a kick off event at City Hall.
Local coordinator Julia Prinselaar says they have some goals for their over 600 participants.
They want to burn a million calories as a city and over a thousand people register to take part.
During the week people are encouraged to reach their destinations by biking, walking or taking public transit.
