Giving Tuesday brought in over $19,000 for the Hospital's Community Foundation.
They'll be using part of that money to buy two Billi Blankets for newborns so they can get treated for jaundice.
Spokesperson Heather Vita says they'll now use the rest of the cash to fundraise for a special monitor.
"It's a very specialized belt that goes over a mom when she's in labour, and it monitors the baby," Vita explains, "It gives critical information about their heartbeat, how they're doing, [...] if a baby is in distress, something can be done right away."
That piece of equipment is worth over $20,000, so more money will need to be brought in. (File Photo)
