The opposition at Queen's Park continues to demand answers about the continued incarceration of Adam Capay at the Thunder Bay District Jail. Until last week, Capay had spent four years in segregation.
Progressive Conservative Critic Rick Nicholls says the Ministry of Corrections is required to file a report to theminister responsible every 60 days an inmate spends in a segregation unit. He says because the government ignored the warnings, the charges are in danger of being dropped.
Minister of Correctional Services David Orazietti hints there are extenuating circumstances surrounding Capay's time in prison and that there are other reasons for the delay which may be out of the government's control.
Orazietti says however, the government is committed to full review of the situation. (File photo)
