OLG Breathes New Life Into Charitable Bingo

Over 65 charities in Thunder Bay will hopefully benefit from new electronic games at the Community Bingo hall.

The OLG has introduced e-bingo as a way to revitalize charitable gaming across the province.

Spokesperson Ryan Bissonnette says charitable gaming has been in decline for quite some time, but the program has been successful engaging a younger customer in five other Ontario communities. Pilot programs started in 2005 in an effort to provide charities with a sustainable source of additional revenue, and have since seen $80 million more raised.

Traditional paper-based games are also still available. (Photo: Caryn Ceolin)
