Rain in the forecast is expected to help calm the forest fire situation somewhat.
That’s according to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, who are crossing their fingers the weather will put a damper on Kenora Fire 71.
50 crews are working on the blaze, which flared up toward the end of this past week because of hot windy weather.
Three new fires started yesterday, but two were declared out by last night.
