A Walmart employee got more than he bargained for after he nabbed a shoplifter.
Police indicate the 20-year-old had a knife pulled on him last night by a woman who was in custody for theft at the West Arthur Street store.
He told police the woman swung the knife at him and then ran out of the store.
The suspect was later arrested after officers spotted her on Confederation Drive.
Charged is 32-year-old Ashley Antoinette Dixon of Thunder Bay.
Police were also kept busy with an assault on the 300 block of Ogden Street.
They tell us it happened around 9:30 this morning when they found a 16-year-old who was taken to hospital by paramedics for treatment of her injuries.
Police arrested a 16-year-old female and 18-year-old man at the scene and are looking for a third suspect who are all known to each other.

Aggravated Assault
Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Ogden Street at 9:30 this morning responding to an assault that had occurred.
Upon arrival officers assisted a 16 year old female who had been assaulted and was in need of medical attention. She was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
A 16 year old female and an 18 year old male who were located in the residence were arrested and are currently in custody for Obstruct Police. Police are currently looking to locate the suspect in this incident that fled prior to police arrival. All individuals in this incident are known to each other. This investigation is continuing.

Assault with a Weapon
Patrol officers were dispatched to the Wal-Mart located on West Arthur Street just before 8:40 p.m. on March 12, 2018 to assist a loss prevention officer who had just been assaulted with a weapon.
The 20 year old male victim advised police he had a female in custody for theft when she pulled a knife out of her purse and swung it at him and running out of the store. The employee was not injured in this interaction.
The female suspect was located on Confederation Drive a short time later by patrol officers. She was taken into custody and escorted to the Balmoral Police Station.
Ashley Antoinette Dixon, 32 years old of Thunder Bay has been charged with Theft under $5000 and Assault with a Weapon. She appeared in court and has been remanded into custody.
