You can expect to detour onto Neebing and Broadway Avenues near the Airport next year.
City Council approved the proposed route for next summer's construction on Highway 61, which Hatch consulting spokesperson Dale Wiersema explains will remain open to two lanes during the day.
However, you'll only be able to drive 50 kilometres per hour between Princess Street and Broadway Avenue when the highway is open.
At night, vehicles will be directed onto Neebing and Broadway Avenues from 9 pm to 7 am.
Council was told the Ministry of Transportation will pay for repairs to Neebing and Broadway after the project is done.
Wiersema claims those streets won't see too many extra vehicles, however.
"The time we're planning to use the nighttime detour route, [average traffic volumes on Highway 61] generally do not exceed what the peak hour of traffic on Neebing Avenue currently is."
The construction is expected to last from May to November 2018. (File Photo)
