College Raises $59K In Two Weeks

After an intense two weeks of fundraising, Confederation College staff & students have raised $59,000.

The cash is going towards students, the United Way and the school's food bank.  

President Jim Madder says he's in awe of their efforts.

Over $27,000 is going towards the College’s Emergency Student Fund, which includes the Food Bank.   

$15,130 is going to the United Way’s funded agencies and $16,940 will be directed to support student awards at Confederation College.

Employees and students also collected 3,907 food bank items. 

Student Union President Jodi Afonso says she's pleased they were able to beat last year's fundraising totals.

She also shared the news that their partnership with the school was honoured for a provincial award by the College Student Alliance.
