A big honor for a resident of the Sandy Lake First Nation.
Fontaine Robert Fiddler has received a Medal of Bravery from Canada's Governor General at a special ceremony at Rideau Hall in Ottawa.
Fiddler was singled out for running into a burning building on Sandy Lake on the night of April 5th, 2016.
Fiddler, who has been a Canadian Ranger for the past 14 years, managed to save the lives of all four children in the home and two adults.
Kenora M.P. Bob Nault says the heroics Fiddler displayed were nothing short of remarkable.
