The Thunder Bay Boys and Girls Club is asking for an additional $20,000 be included in its annual grant from the city.
Executive Director Albert Aiello tells us it would help the organization deal with the extra children it has been seeing lately.
He says an average of 150 kids attend the Windsor Street facility after school, and they need to keep up with staffing requirements and government regulations to ensure proper supervision.
Aiello indicates the $20,000 would be a part of the $100,000 the club is expected to receive as part of the city’s Community Youth & Culture Funding Program.
The request goes before city council on Monday (File Photo)
