The 2018 budget for Thunder Bay and District Social Services Administration Board has been approved, with a $7-million increase over 2017.
CAO Bill Bradica attributes the increase partly to higher funding for Ontario Works, among other changes this year.
“Including additional homeless prevention money, which includes the Home For Good program, and some more money for childcare expansion,” Bradica adds the Board has also been given responsibility for distributing funding for EarlyON Child and Family Centres.
He notes that because of more funding from the province, the city and surrounding municipalities will pay three percent less to the Board. (File Photo)
