A Thunder Bay man who was charged by the RCMP with misappropriation of funds is going to be sentenced on January 12th.
Giuseppe (Joe) Crupi plead and was found guilty of two counts of fraud over $5,000.
The RCMP charged that between 2007 and 2012, Crupi fraudulently obtained money that was meant for Kashechewan First Nation including some from the National Child Benefit that was meant to provide breakfasts for 400 elementary school children.
They also say he misappropriated $694,000 of the First Nations money for his own personal use in 2008, 2009 and 2012.
The reported statement of facts says Crupi used exactly $335,982.97.
