A lobby group, comprised of victims of gun violence, wants the federal government to update the laws on assault rifles.
Spokesperson Heidi Rathjen claims that although such weapons were banned in 1995, the law was meant to be changed as new guns made it to the market, but never was.
She says many new models are not only introduced to the market, but approved by the RCMP, with some being assault weapons and unrestricted.
The group also wants the feds to tighten the laws on gun ownership, saying the Trudeau government having done nothing about the issue since being elected. (Photo: Screenshot cpac.ca)
