Fawning season is underway and officials are encouraging folks to leave the baby deer alone.
If you stumble upon a young fawn over the next few weeks, Deer Biologist Joe Kennedy says mom is likely coming back. Kennedy says during the natural feeding cycles, fawns are often left alone for six to eight hours.
He notes deer will likely take up residence in wooded areas and subdivisions. (File photo)
