Bad news for Fort Frances.
The town is confirming that negotiations between US company Expera and Resolute Forest Products for the Fort Kraft Mill fell through.
Minister of Northern Development and Mines Michael Gravelle says he’s disappointed.
Gravelle adds that he’s made it clear to Fort Frances’ Mayor Roy Avis that his ministry will continue to do what it can to help the community.
A news release says negotiations broke off because Expera can’t acquire wood fibre at a reasonable cost.
