five arrested in large drug bust

On March 30th just after 10 p.m. drug and gang unit officers with the Thunder Bay Police Service executed four Controlled Drug and Substances Act Search Warrants at an apartment building in the South Cumberland Street area. As a result over $350,000.00 in crack cocaine, powder cocaine and monies were seized along with one imitation handgun and asp baton. This represents the largest seizure of crack cocaine in the City of Thunder Bay. Facing charges of trafficking cocaine and possession of property over $5000.00 are Jamar Kaydeem ALLISON 25yrs of Etobicoke ON, Kareem Maurice BRYAN 33yrs GTA., Brandon Geoffrey HINDS 31yrs GTA, Joel Jordan TURNER 25yrs of Brampton ON, and Olivia Paige KANARY 20yrs of Thunder Bay. All have been remanded into custody and held for future court dates. All but one of these persons is from the GTA area, it is concerning to the Thunder Bay Police Service that these types of individulas continue to come to the North in search of greater profits from there illegal drug sales as it so often leads to elevated levels of violent crime along with the increased social problems they help create and maintain. These investigations are both complex and time consuming, the Thunder Bay Police Service would like to thank the public for there ongoing support in enabling the service to put these persons before the courts.
