OPP say highway 17a near Kenora has been partially re-opened following a serious two vehicle crash, in which 8 people were taken to hospital.
It happened yesterday afternoon around 3pm, with the cause of the crash and degree of injuries not known at this time.
(KENORA, ON) – Members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police, with assistance from Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) and the Kenora Forensic Identification Unit (FISU) are on the scene of a serious motor vehicle collision on Highway 17a, between Airport Rd and Highway 671.
Police received a report of a two vehicle collision shortly after 3:00 pm on Wednesday, August 30, 2017. Police, Kenora Fire and Ambulance attended and eight people were taken to hospital via ambulance and police vehicle. The level of the injuries are undetermined at this time.
The highway remains closed and travellers are asked to take alternate routes around the scene via Airport Rd or Jones Rd.
