FedNor is investing almost 700-thousand dollars to keep innovative 18-29-year olds in the north, matching them with small/medium sized businesses.

Through the Northwestern Ontario Innovation Centre, the program will work with companies that need help to finish projects, or want to expand.

N-O-I-C manager Judy Sander says when it comes to expanding, some companies get nervous about finding the right help.

She says they may not have enough money to justify hiring someone.

Sander says companies will provide mentorship and training, with the possibility of hiring the candidate permanently.
