Two cancer organizations in Canada are merging beginning next year.
The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society are joining forces to have a greater impact on cancer research and support programs across the country. The two charities will unite under the Canadian Cancer Society banner, while key programs and activities from the CBCF will carry over and continue.
Chair of the Canadian Cancer Society Board of Directors Robert Lawrie says bringing both organizations together will improve performance, increase opportunities and reduce costs. Lawrie says this will ultimately allow more funds to go to cancer research and support.
Until the merger by February 1st 2017, both organizations will continue operations as usual.
