Six local athletes are being inducted into the Northwestern Ontario Sports Hall of Fame this year.
Executive Director Diane Imrie highlights one of the inductees, Thunder Bay's John Jones, who had a very successful auto racing career.
Dryden's Chris Pronger is also being inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Imrie says they picked him since he's one of hockey's most decorated defensive stars.
"Many have ranked Chris very close to Bobby Orr, in terms of his amazing abilities," she points out.
Bob "Battleship" Kelly, Lou Kok, Ab Cava, and Irene MacLeay are also among the inductees.
It's the 36th year for the annual induction dinner and ceremonies, which is being held tonight at the Valhalla Inn. (File Photo)
