Thunder Bay’s financial picture appears to be a little brighter with news that our credit rating has gone up.
Our city treasurer says it went from “double A minus” to “double A”.
A the top rating is “triple A”.
Linda Evans says it’s a sign city hall is doing it’s jobs managing your tax dollars reflecting administration and council’s commitment to sound financial policies.
Evans says it also may mean it may cost the city less to borrow money.
The rate was announced by S&P Global Ratings, formally Standard and Poors
