A new crisis team made of mental health workers now has the money it needs to operate.
The team will be working with city police to help them handle calls where people are experiencing a mental health crisis.
Up until now, police have been left on their own to deal with such issues, potentially tying them up for hours.
The group has just received $400,000 from the province’s North West Local Health Integration Network and expects to be up and running by June.
