Hundreds of children in the region will have a better Christmas this Sunday due to the Dilico Family Care 2016 Christmas Wish Campaign.
The campaign exceeded its goal of filling 700 bags with toys, clothing and even a sleigh and bicycle.
Director of Child Welfare Carmela Hardy says organizers specifically targetted 704 individual children, got their names and what they are interested in, and filled bags with gifts aimed at each child.
Hardy says many city businesses contributed. She also credits the grade 12 drama students at St. Pat’s High school for filling bags and collecting toys from students in the audience of one of their plays.
