Dairy farming in northwestern Ontario is one focus of a new strategy to boost our agricultural industry.
Minister of Northern Development and Mines Michael Gravelle announced the Northern Ontario Agri-Food Strategy which also hopes to boost fish-farming, and food processing.
He claims the government recognizes the importance of the industry and that can be part of a larger economy, noting that it’s a huge part of the economy right across Ontario.
Officials say the strategy also aims to increase business opportunities for Indigenous people and communities in these sectors.
