Fire crews have extinguished a fire on the north side in an older two-storey building.
They arrived on the scene at 289 Park Avenue at around 2:45 this afternoon to find thick smoke pouring from one of the apartment units.
The building has been evacuated, and Fire Rescue officials say power has been disconnected.
Chief Kelly Patterson says nobody was injured, and it’s too early to say what may have caused the blaze.
The fire was contained to the second-storey room in which it started, although Patterson adds the second floor was filled with smoke. (Staff photo/video)
