No one was home at the time, but it turns out the homeowner had called 911 when a security application on his phone alerted him to the fire taking place.

Stats Canada is reporting Canadians made 2.5 million trips across the border in May which is the lowest level in 14 years.

Unusually wet weather in the spring may have contributed to big declines in Ontario and Quebec.

Air travel to the U-S was also down in May compared to the previous month when Canadians made more than 660-thousand overnight trips.

But the real surprise suggests it costs about $120-thousand more in northeastern Ontario.

In 2017, the cost is pegged at $569-thousand.
